After a good showing against some of NASCAR’s biggest teams in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with Specialty Racing, Brandon Whitt has elected to pursue other options for the balance of the 2009 racing season.

“I’m very grateful to Specialty Racing, the owners and the crew, for giving me a great opportunity in the Nationwide Series,” said Whitt, who currently sits 17th in Nationwide Series points. “I’m proud of what we accomplished together and wish them every success going forward.”

Ramping up the website…

It’s been a little while since we’ve added a status update to the site. First, thank you for your patience! Second, Brandon is still very busy so “official” blog posts are still low on the priority list. Busy is good, right?

The good news is that we’ll be adding some photos going forward, courtesy of extraordinary photographic talent Phil Cavali. Even better news? Brandon has discovered Twitter, which is good news for you readers because now he’s going to be updating you on everything Whitt as it happens… even live from the racetrack! You can track his “tweets” from the site’s sidebar or you can follow him on Twitter directly. We recommend TweetDeck as a great Twitter app if you decide to go the latter route.

These are just the first steps for expanding Brandon’s site – if you have ideas for other features feel free to let us know in the guestbook.

Happy racing!

I first would like to thank everyone for such great support over the years. As you can probably understand this year has flown by so fast I can’t believe its already the off season. I just wanted to let everyone know that this great opportunity I have been given with Specialty Racing will continue for the full 2009 season. I will try to keep everyone updated as much as possible on any updates that may be upcoming. Also keep posted for some possible off season races I may be running. It’s great to hear from everyone.

Thanks again for the great support. Have a great holiday. See you in 2009!
